Our EPC improvement services have saved our clients over £20m to date. This has been achieved by undertaking professional energy assessments, taking the time to find accurate actual values, rather than rely on inaccurate defaults, which many assessors do. This allows our clients to remove planned CAPEX allocated in their business plans for building upgrades, enhancing viability and improving returns.

Our focus is on achieving the highest possible rating for our clients. We achieve this by taking the time to find actual values, rather than rely on default values (which many assessors do).

This approach delivers fantastic results for our clients. We have successfully improved EPC’s from a D rating, to a B rating, without any building upgrades being undertaken.

This in turn improves our clients’ returns, by enabling the removal of allocated CAPEX for building upgrades, removing the time and disruption of works and improving rental levels achieved.

For those buildings that do require upgrades, we provide detailed energy assessments with recommendations aligned with the lifecycle of the building and its systems. We focus on achieving the target rating for the lowest cost and least disruption.  

EPC Upgrade Process

Fully establish our clients’ objectives, targets, timeframe and budget.

Client instructs the EPC. 

Site visit undertaken & baseline EPC calculated.

If works are required, upgrade recommendations and costs presented to the client. 

If works are required, the upgrade route is agreed with the client.

Works are tendered and a contractor appointed. 

Works are managed and delivered. 

EPC is finalised and issued.

3 - Key benefits of improving an EPC rating

Securing a compliant EPC increases capital value by:

  • Increasing the rent achievable.

  • Removing the risk of obsolescence.

  • Removing CAPEX allocations and uncertainty around the cost of compliance upgrades.

  • Improving liquidity.

Ensures compliance with EPC legislation, thereby removing the risk of fines for non-compliance, which can be up to £150,000 per breach, as well as the reputational risk.

  • There are around 2,000,000 commercial buildings in the UK.
